Better Light Films

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Better Light Films (operating in Quebec as Productions Better Light) is a Montreal video production company. This page explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

What we collect

When you write to us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, your email address, your company name if you include it, and whatever you tell us in your message. That’s the only personal information this website collects. The site doesn’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we never sell personal information.

Why we collect it

To answer you, to plan and deliver the projects you hire us for, and to keep the records the law requires, such as invoices.

People who appear on camera

Productions involve the names, images, and voices of the people being filmed. We collect that information through signed release forms, use it only to produce and deliver the project, and protect it under Quebec privacy law.

Where your information lives

Messages and email run through Formspree, our form provider, and Google Workspace. Project video is hosted with Bunny Stream, and working files stay on our own drives. Some of these providers store information outside Quebec; when that happens, we make sure the information receives adequate protection, as Quebec privacy law requires.

How long we keep it

Inquiry messages: as long as we need them to follow up. Project files: 12 months after final delivery, the same window our client contracts promise, then they’re deleted. Records the law requires, such as invoices: as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent where the law allows. Write to the address below and we’ll respond promptly.

Who’s responsible

Paul Rashotte is the person responsible for the protection of personal information at Better Light Films. You can reach him at paul@betterlightfilms.com.

If something goes wrong

If a confidentiality incident creates a risk of serious harm, we’ll notify the people affected and the Commission d’accès à l’information, as the law requires.

Changes

If this policy changes, the update appears here with a new date.
